Title: Smart Grids the future of Energy in Pakistan   

Biography:

Prof. Dr. Sobia Baig, CEng, MIET, SMIEEE, is currently serving as Head, Energy Research Center, COMSATS University, Isb. She is a certified EDGE Expert for Green Buildings. She is a certified Trainer of Trainers by National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (NEECA). She has been the Vice-Chair of IEEE Lahore Section and member of Pakistan Engineering Council’s Women Engineer Sub-Committee, Lahore. She has served as the Head of Department at the Department of Electrical Engineering, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore, Pakistan from September 2013 till September 2016. She was awarded the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU ) Titular fellowship, for research work in Smart Grid communication in 2016. Her research interests include work on non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) techniques, Smart Grid Communication techniques, multicarrier modulation techniques and energy efficiency techniques.
